From 1 Nov 2016, Alila Villas Soori will be re-named "Soori Bali" and shall revert to owner management.

Well that's massively disappointing. I think, despite the hype that Uluwatu had, Soori was a better property (save for some issues with it not being 'visually stunning' at first sight - points I highlighted in my short site visit there regarding main/communal areas e.g the main pool). It especially grows on you, and is an absolutely stunning location.
Also, it's more worrying because Alila seems determined to destroy the Uluwatu property with whatever the hell they're building there. I hope that's not the direction Alila is taking its resorts, with the new villas property opening up in Cambodia etc.
Anyone know what happened and why they reverted to owner management?
