So if a merchant is on the map, but the purchase is made via their web site ( say they are in southern cal., and I'm in SF,) does that still count as " directly with the merchant" or does that mean you wont get any bonus points?

So I called up AMEX and internet does not qualify. It has to be a walk in purchase
