This is not going to work, as you'd have to give them both. If they keep something, the odds of them keeping the IDP and not your real license are basically zero.
They will usually not confiscate a licence issued by an overseas authority. I am currently banned from driving in Germany, but I did not have to surrender my UK licence and can drive everywhere else.
