We do have some wallet funs which are expiring sometime in March so we could use those to bring the cost down. $163 isn't really high enough to justify using a companion fare certificate, but maybe I should re-think that.

Yes, you can use your My Wallet funds with the Companion Certificate but keep in mind that the price will probably be the same (or close) either way because the companion has to pay around $100 (plus all the taxes) which is essentially what the base fare is so there is really going to be no discount whatsoever unless to you tack on another trip from SEA (which of course can be at a later date). I always use the Companion certs for 1.5 one-way trips to stretch them as far as possible like PDX-EWR-PDX (three month stopover)-ANC.
