Even if you get a better deal from Avis, don't even consider renting from them in Italy -- especially when you are returning the car to MXP.

I made that mistake once: I paid for the car at Avis in TLV, rented it in MXP, and returned it there. The contract I got in Israel said that if I refused Super CDW I would be liable for a 300 Euro maximum. The papers I signed in Italy said that I accepted the Super CDW at a charge of Euro 0 per day. (To my mind, this meant I was being given it for free.)

I returned the car undamaged -- at least as far as I could see. About a month later my credit card was charged for 1000 Euros. When I called Avis in MXP to find out why, they told me it was for a damaged windshield.

I complained to Avis in TLV. After a month, they were able to determine that:

1. MXP said there was a minute pebble hole in the windshield.
2. MXP is saying that by accepting the Super CDW at Euro 0, I was refusing it.
3. MXP said that the contract limiting damage to 300 Euro is incorrect.

Avis TLV demanded to see the history of the car and discovered that the previous renter had been charged the same 1000 Euros for the same damage to the windshield. In other words, even if it existed (which I still doubt), I was not responsible for it.

For all of this, Avis MXP refused to return my 1000 Euro and Avis TLV gave me a check from their own money. They also told me that they get more complaints about MXP then they do about any other Avis franchise.
