If you want your AS miles, take AA thru PHX or DL thru SLC or LAX.

Berkeley is not far from SFO. You can go nonstop BOS-SFO and get it over with, but not on AS or a partner....yet. DL launches BOS-SFO in mid 2017, and at some point the VX-AS deal may close and you can fly VX.
