welcome to life in a 2nd tier (some might argue 3rd tier for OAK) AS west coast city.
i'm taking an overnight in Seattle in a couple of weeks but only because i had some my wallet credit to burn up before it expired, a GGU for a transcon back in the day when U used to be open, and AA/DL was no cheaper.
even going to SFO off of some of the transcons is a crapshoot of whether you can avoid the overnight in one or both directions...
i am probably putting all my business on DL next year except for Seattle trips (of which I do about 6 a year and AS has 737s to DL's CR7s) and then using my companion fare for HI, MX and or CR
i also hope that my "business" next year is about 40K total, versus 120K this year
