Even after WS landed in YXT, I'm guessing the rev tickets are profitable enough to protect by limiting redemptions. It's still much harder to get a decently scheduled classic redemption between YXT/YVR than YVR/YYZ, for example.
While AC could of course not release any extra seats, their agreement with AP mandates the same % of seats be provided at the regular award level on every route, every month. IIRC, it's 7% per route, per month, but I'm not certain and don't feel like re-reading the AC/AP AIFs right now.
