We are booked in business class on a 777 staggered seat configuration.
When selecting seats to be together I was prompted to select two seats, one on the inside aisle and the other on the center aisle outside. I do not feel confident about this choice.

Is that the best option? What about 2 aisle seats one behind the other?
Or the two center seats -- there is a "partition" but can you communicate with your traveling companion?
