my employer is sending me to auckland 2x a month for the next 6 months. if we win the followon contract it'll be twice a month for the next 12. they pay for travel in business class. I signed up for nz airpoints in dec. I still don't have a card but flew nz once to auckland already and liked it.

I want to extend some of my trips and visit friends in christchurch and explore the south. I tried booking a internet fare off nz's site. my work pays for me to auckland but its my $ for the weekends. after heaps of trying I found one that works. then I see they olny sell them to nz residents. the next cheapest aussie friendly fare was much more. I gave up on nz's site and went to qantas. within 5 minutes I booked an auckland christchurch return at a good price and it didnt even need to be 3 weeks out.

I think I'll tell our travel girls to put me on qantas for my business travel to auckland from here on. since nz dont want me cluttering their planes weekends why bother them during the week either?
