Just like a car. A small fender bender can total a 13 year old car, while a new car can sustain a lot more damage in an accident and be repaired.
The correct and only comparison would be apples to apples.
The 767 is still in production and Parts are readily available.
If it's safe and cost effective you can be sure they will keep the plane.
If either of those requisites are not met it will be scrapped.
