This happened to me as well on the way back from Greece to JFK. I got a message after 1 hour saying your hour is up, and i had the option to click a button to keep messaging, but internet kept working.

I'm on AT&T but was using my friends #, there is no text confirmation or anything. It just logged me on.

Wifi was ok, a little slow but it was nice to have!
