Bumping this just before what I believe to be the "five year rule"!!

We're off to the Sofitel Chengdu for 3 days in January. Very reasonable rate for an opera suite! Has anyone stayed in one of those? Any tips about the hotel (including spa/massages, the various restaurants, any particular recommendation near the hotel or more generally beyond the ubiquitous (but presumably exciting?) pandas?

I'm also interested in knowing about the best ways to get to the hotel from the airport. Hotel mentioned a fairly expensive hotel limousine service compared to the taxi and bus. I'm leaning towards just getting a regular taxi, is that a good choice?
