about 6 yrs ago I had my checked luggage stolen from an AC flight YOW to YYZ. It was an inside job at YYZ and the bag just never came onto the luggage belt in YYZ.

It later turned up behind a Tim Horton's in Oakville. I had to go to Oakville Police station to pick it up. Fortunately nothing was stolen as I had no valuables in it.

However my CC did cover essentials I had to buy as I was speaking at a conference the next day and needed supplies and a clean shirt, etc.

I reported it to everyone and several months later I read of an arrest for stealing luggage inside YYZ security. YYZ authorities never had the courtesy to contact me.

Other than that, I also had a cell phone stolen from my seat during a flight from Lisbon to Paris on a TAP flight. No coverage for that and I am not sure I even tried to claim it. Just do not leave your cell on your seat when you go to the bathroom.
