Tragic End to a Relationship
I stopped using Avis over a year ago due to the increasing age of their cars, mechanical issues, and just overall awful customer service regardless of the location. Unfortunately, in my attempts to come back hoping things have improved, I find the same mediocre service that existed a year ago. In the past two-weeks, I have rented cars in Atlanta (home location), Fort Lauderdale, Oakland, and Las Vegas. In every single instance, the car received was dirty, two of the four rentals I experienced mechanical issues requiring me to swap, and a lackluster customer service experience where the representatives truely didn't "try harder". One would think that holding a status that has to be awarded and not earned would yield different results, however, it appears that status no longer carries any weight with these organizations.
Spending 46-48 weeks on the road and over 150 days in rental cars, am I in the minority experiencing these type of issues with Avis locations in the US? I will revert back to the brand who is consistent in both vehicle condition and service, National.
