Bumping an older thread w/ 738/73H exit Q: Anyone flown in 18A or F lately? I don't care about the half arm-rest, what I care about is remembering a
terrible flight SEA-MSP a year ago in seat 19A.
It must have been a 739 since the -8s have exits rows 17/18. The issue with 19A was that the seat was only maybe 15" wide? It was like they sawed off 2" of a standard (ie already crappy 17") seat cushion and upholstered it. I had two blankets stuffed in the very big seat-sidewall gap but one hour into the flight I was miserable, it was literally numbing to try and perch my middle-aged backside on that narrow plank.
I'm flying SJU-JFK which is 4hrs. Currently in 18C which should be fine but I really prefer window seats for almost all flights, except I don't ever want a replay of 19A on a 739.
So any recent pax have on OK experience in 18A or F? I know the tradeoffs of tray table , and the seat cushion firmness. Thats same in A, C, D or F. It's the mini-width I hated. MD90s for example the window exits are just fine for me.
Thanks.
