Actually the hotel probably will know. Definitely will know if rooms are on different floors
In interests of security, nearly all hotels either ensure lifts have video camera feed , or the exit area via lifts on each floor is under video camra surveilance.
Also hotels log centrally keycard/time each room door is opened, so in combination with lift video feed know fulwell which guests stay in which room.
If hotel cares about you gaming (not all hotels do care) then any hotel can always spot your falsification and charge you both nights on the bogo room.
