A little baffling. This used to happen with express flights a lot but it's a surprise to see it happen to mainline flights.
Not to bring up an old chestnut, but in the pmUA world, flight numbers had meaning. In the pmCO world, they were essentially random... Flight 1234 today could go TPA-IAH, but tomorrow CLE-ATL. Or what-have-you. Basically no continuity.

We all know which system we're under these days, so I've found it best to drop any thinking whatsoever about flight numbers and just assume they are completely random.
