actually yes, as stated above, the airlines have *some* obligation to ensure visa/travel/immigration compliance. dont take it personally.

once i checked-in on BKK-BNE totally ignorant that australia required tourist visa for even americans. check-in staff caught it and whipped one up for me on her computer. if they hadn't caught it, it would likely given me non-insignificant headache 10 hours later...
