I don't think that's fair - and it's not a BA Apologist thing. There are so many reasons that could impact a flight irrespective of airline - mechanical issues, bad weather, air traffic control strikes, baggage handler strikes, staff fainting on board, passengers dying on board, bird strikes, volcanoes, airport IT issues, incoming aircraft delays, plane stupid superglueing themselves to runways, black live matters, security evacuations. Yet you're going to arrive within 2 hours of your scheduled arrival time 98%+ of the time. But with 2 flights and 4 potential points of delays, this will increase.

BA planes do run on time almost all of the time, as do almost all airlines (notable exceptions to Biman and Indonesian domestic carriers).

Reading the article, it appears that this lady did make it on time as BA rebooked her onto AA, but she's still getting a story in the mainstream press - on behalf of the minions in Y who possibly didn't, she doesn't know as she did get rebooked, but wants to have a moan. If I was one of those in Y who did have a critically important meeting (which tbf sounds more like me) then perhaps it would be newsworthy. Except by default it wouldn't be, as they probably are not in Corrie.
