I just got the Sapphire Reserve and understand that if (1) I book the flight with my CC and (2) my "immediate family members" are travelling with me, then a lot of the benefits extend to them. For example, trip cancellation insurance, trip interruption insurance, and the lounge pass would work for them.

But what happens if I still book the trip with my CC but am not on the same trip? Do the benefits still extend to immediate family members?
