Whilst I am no expert, the 787-8 is 3 class, they have 8 of them I believe. The 789-9, they currrently have 14. These are 4 class including 8 F seats.
I would imagine BA have done their sums and they have worked out that these were worth investing on certain routes. I am sure someone with specialitist knowledge in this field will be along shortly.
