When I was there a few days ago, I was told that the International will be 2 floors. The upper one, which is now renovated except for the area in the back near the washrooms, and the former one downstairs, which is currently under reno.
As I posted in the other thread, I was also told the 2 will be connected by an internal staircase, that there will be showers and there will be a chef.
I have no proof that this info is true or not true. Perhaps others know better.
However, the upstairs is almost as small as the old downstairs - at least visually. Given the crazy volume during the Asian flights' departure window alone, there is no way that upper space would be any better with the same volume or increased volume should AC add more flights or with any additional *A etc guests.
CX has a beautiful new lounge and with their additional HKG flight in the spring on the new A350, YVR has seen some fantastic growth happening.
I would hope AC gives this international lounge the proper attention it deserves.
Even as it is, IMO, it is 1000 times better than that dump in YYZ.
