Never mind, AFAIR I never used my Carlson Gold for anything.
It's once in a lifetime of the account, which may not necessarily be the same thing as once in a lifetime of the person.
If I remember correctly, Club Carlson used to even have a deliberate practice of allowing for a person to have at least two Club Carlson accounts.
The 2-for-1 weekend rates and 4-for-2 weekend rates for Gold and Concierge members can be a very good deal. Other than that I don't find much use for Carlson Gold, even as some properties do provide a decent upgrade and related benefits for Golds too.
In the US, Carlson Gold is easily had by way of credit cards.
