IND to MEM, about 10-15 minutes after takeoff, you pass right over Bloomington -- and while I cannot see where i currently live, i was able to see my previous dwelling quite easily.

Personally, looking out the windows and identifying things from above is the greatest thrill! I wouldn't sit anywhere but a window seat.
