Dear Mr. Grinstein,

A group of 30 frequent flyers, almost all Delta Elite and Elite Plus, will be meeting in Boca Raton, Florida.

The group is a diverse one. Some will be flying in from as far as New York, California, and Israel while others are local residents. Their outlooks vis-a-vis Delta also differ. We have both 4-Million Milers who have moved most of their business to other airlines and Gold Medallions who continue to use Delta as their primary airline. The three things that all have in common are a history of flying with Delta, heavy travel, and a strong feelings about what they want from an airline.

This will be a dinner meeting in an informal setting whose primary purpose is social. It seems to me, however, that it would present an excellent opportunity for you to meet with a large number of top tier flyers, explain to them your ideas of where Delta should be headed (and where it can afford to head) while hearing their concerns and ideas for improvements in customer service and the SkyMiles program.

You would not be expected to make a speech or be peppered with press conference-type questioning. Instead, you would simply join us in a restaurant which has the reputation of being one of the nation's best "BBQ" places and hopefully have some fun while exchanging ideas with a number of your major flyers.

If you would be interested in joining us, please let me know and I will give you the exact time and location.

Sincerely,
Dovster

Dovster...excellent idea and I'll be interested in hearing his response, if any. You and I probably stand a better chance of voluntarily ordering and eating 10#'s of gizzards each ( inside "joke" to those who don't monitor the Great PBI/FLL Meet thread) than we do in seeing Grinstein walk through the door. But maybe he'll send a lieutenant. Or maybe he'll upgrade your return to MXP.
Regardless, very good idea. Let's see what happens.
