Suicide mission: USH-AEP-EZE-ATL itinerary
After an Antarctica cruise, we've had a nasty schedule change that involves an Argentina Airlines flight from Ushaia to the AEP airport in Buenos Aires, with four and a half hours to get through the rush hour traffic to EZE and on the Delta flight to ATL and then home to SLC.
I've posted in the Argentina forum about the logistics of getting between the airports, but I know if the flight to AEP is delayed by more than a bit, the between-airports connection will be impossible. This will be on January 6th during Friday rush-hour traffic. I am on a paid ticket, my wife (Gold) and daughter on a second, award itinerary. Fortunately, the first flight from USH and the others are on the same itineraries (NOT separate tickets from EZE) for all of us.
Here, I am just looking for advice on "what would you do in my situation" if we arrive in AEP, pick up our bags, and it's clear we're not gonna make it to EZE in time. Instead of just blindly heading like a nut to EZE, should I just try to hit the Diamond Line through Skype right away and get help in changing to the next day? Seems like rerouting opportunities the same day would be limited.
This question sounds more naive than my flying experience is, but just looking for wisdom from anyone who's been in this type of situation down there. Thanks much.
