To me it seems to be a logical move, being part of IAG and BA having a long tradition of PE. Most BA and IB flights today are codeshared, so consistency of the proudcts makes sense.

Now, I wonder whether fare class I will become PE? I recently realized that all my I fare class IB flight posted as W/I - althogh correctly earning business class avios and tier points ...? Now this, of course, would be inconsistent, as I is firmly business in the case of BA ...
