The XDAII would fill the bill if you can handle your phone having a PDA form factor (when you get used to it it rocks). The only issue is that it's still pretty much a grey-market item in the US, and you don't get any carrier subsidy.

Also: It doesn't support GSM 850, so if you're on AT&T or Cingular you might run into coverage issues.
