FlyingBlue on the other hand says we can only accept a certificate and it can only be credited via our website -- no human will talk to you.

What does your BP show for FF account? If it shows FB argue that point. However if it still shows DL then there's not much that can be done. Who was the reservation through? DL doesn't allow you to change accounts once you fly the 1st flight.
