The A380 does not fit AA at all. In fact it may wind up without any US airlines operating it, ever (except FedEx of course). In reality it was designed for the Asian airlines. I'm not even sure if it's really the right thing for AF or LH - but AF I think was a given, in fact the A330-200 in the late '90s was the first Airbus AF didn't buy, and they wound up with them anyway. AF currently operates every current Airbus model except the A300/310 (now being built almost exclusively as freighters) and the A340-500/600.

Qantas, Singapore Airlines, and Emirates really typify your typical A380 potential customer. I could easily see Cathay Pacific, Malaysia, or Thai operating them too. JAL and ANA would be perfect candidates too, though both generally prefer Boeing (I think ANA just went with A320s recently). Of European airlines, VS and BA would be the biggest candidates because of LHR congestion. VS of course has already ordered.
