I accuse you of selective reading. Banning the use and especially the charging of GN7 on any airline is perfectly reasonable and should be enforced.

Banning the transport is either hysteria or the nowadays all too common US protectionism. Not all airlines handle the case in the same manner but now the US administration tampers with their choice.
