Agree with @Jonross - as crazy as it may sound, you do want to try to be at the airport around 3 hours ahead of departure. The passport control lines on leaving KUL were very, very busy and very slow for foreigners. If you're travelling on a Malaysian passport, no issue - plenty of open lines.
