From Vienna Airport: S7/RailJet to Ubahn

When arriving in Vienna on Thursday, I will take the S7 or RailJet to Wien Mitte and then, if it's raining, transfer to the U3 to Stephansplatz. I will also buy a weekly Vienna transport pass at VIE.

I read on Trip Advisor that with a Vienna transport pass, all I need to pay for the S7 is just €1.90.

If you are in possession of a valid pass for Vienna, you only have to buy a supplementary (outer zone) ticket costing €1.70. The pass or tickets, probably purchased at the airport, must be validated when boarding the train! Present pass and supplement ticket to the train attendant in order to receive a smile (or not).

Is Trip Advisor accurate? Would this also apply for the RailJet? I'll take whichever train comes first.

Also, since it's a weekly pass with the date imprinted on the pass, is getting the pass validated necessary?

Thank you.
