I recently flew DTW-PEK on the A332, and I was in seat 2A. I found it very pleasant, and it's seperated from the galley/lavs enough that they aren't an issue. Also, food is served front-to-back so the farther forward you are the more likely you are to get your first choice of meal.
On top of this, since US airlines insist on using tissue paper as curtains in between cabin classes, I would be hard pressed to recommend the mini cabin. It doesn't feel nearly as private as one would expect because the curtains don't block the light or noise from the economy cabin particularly well. On top of this, the forward cabin is small enough on the A332 that it still feels quite private compared to the business cabin on some 777s and A333s I've been on.
