Regarding JQ OTP it was not just their NZ operations that have such a poor reputation just look at the Australian operations.
It is interesting that when Grant Kerr started at JQ there were management decisions made to improve the OTP that JQ even beat NZ. However I wonder if the fact that JQNZ is now profitable was made at the expense of unwinding some of these decisions eg. spare airframe at AKL, more crews per aircraft, lower utilization.
JQ has announced they are interested in bidding for the NZ government domestic contract that would also require them to increase their regional network and frequencies.
