Follow up / trip report on this:
I ended up going with a friend (Tinder match). The event was organized at Helsinki City Hall and was part of a day full of events for QR. First, in the morning, they offered free coffee at a coffee shop, then they had events at the airport, then a press conference thingy and then finally the gala.
There were maybe 200 people at the event. It started off with registration + photos by QR and some media (some Finnish "celebs" like former football player Mikael Forssell and former F1 driver Mika Salo were there). My impression was that the invitees could roughly be classified into a few categories: travel agents, corporate HR/execs, travel bloggers and random celebs/government people.
The event was basically first drinks, then a dinner (my guest was very happy but I thought it was just ok). Wine was flowing pretty freely and I don't think we turned down a single pouring. They started out with some bizarre stuff, such as showing the FC Barcelona safety video as well as several videos I'm sick of already (transit through Doha's state of the art modern airport etc. that they show every flight) and some cool dance routine + video about Doha. The event was moderated by two Finnish tv personalities I only learned about by Googling later. AAB gave the only speech of the night, a fairly long one with all the basics (modern fleet, first ME airline to fly to all 4 Nordic capitals, we hope you fly with us blahblahblah) and some "AAB flavor" ("some of you might be wondering why we started a route to Atlanta: To rub salt into the wounds of our enemies").
Later, some free tickets were raffled out. First, a pair of economy class tickets (to anywhere) was won by some frequent flier who turned them down (they were re-raffled). Then, a pair of C tickets, followed by AAB saying that he would give out two more pairs because of how nice the Qataris are (well, it was a nice gesture). Makes you wonder why they gave out the economy class tickets in the first place. Upon leaving, everyone got a gift bag consisting of a Sony wireless speaker. Nice of them.
All in all, a fun event, thanks QR!
Edit: Instead of posting my own pictures which ended up sucking, search #HelsinkiTogether (which they told us to use like 10 times) and find people who might have pictures
