Also, what mobile payments system could they possibly come up with? Are they going to develop another barcode-based thing like Walmart and CVS have? I think it's just easier to flip the switch for contactless, but as usually these kinds of companies never think.
Lol I'm expecting something like Hy-Vee Pay which would make sure that I would never shop there again. They do have a rewards program so they may actually do something like that.

I'll have to see if I can find a source for Hy-Vee. Is it possible that they couldn't enable contactless at all since they submitted for certification after Visa's April deadline for EMV contactless? The other stores with EMV contact + MSD contactless could very well have been grandfathered in, which would explain a few things about the weak retailer adoption of contactless in general.

Also, safe to mass-add Safeway? I don't know how many stores out there still have self-checkouts (and thus don't have EMV).
Well maybe that is the case but Hy-Vee always seemed to be anti-contactless even back in 2013 even when I made my first ever Google Wallet transaction(ctls) there. Then when I tried to use it again like 1-2 months later it was turned off and it is still off to this day. I even went to one on the ctls locator and it was still off although one location did have a register with NFC enabled but I haven't been back to see if its still on but I doubt it is now.
Goodwill pos will vary so not all use iSC250's with NCR Counterpoint, but I've seen iCT220/250's with EMV/NFC enabled at a different Goodwill division as well. Its really hard to know what solution that each separate Goodwill is using.
