Lifetime 2.2 million miler here. Going to be traveling on business for 2 more years and likely adding another 250K BIS to the total before retirement in my early 60's. That leaves me about 500K short of 3 million miles and lifetime 1K. Here is my challenge..........
should I consider mileage runs over the subsequent few years to get to he 3 mil level? I know that there are no GPU's or RPU's that come with lifetime 1K, but are the other benefits worth it? I know YMMV, but my biggest fear is that with benefit roll backs on Platinum (e.g award booking fees), it feels like Platinum may eventually go away or be little more than Gold with higher UG potential. I posted on this thread because despite there being a thread for "Is 1K worth it", it really focuses on benefits like GPU's which don't pertain in the lifetime case. If Mods want to move this post, that's fine but I would sure like the insights of the very high volume folks that post on this thread. Thanks for your input!
