FWIW, my approach --

Per $1000: GC card cost $3.95 x2 = $7.90. Liquidate at WM orKroger 70 cents. Ignore time & travel cost (minimal for me). Net cash profit using a 2% CB card like Citi Double or FMR = $11.40 per $1k.
