Shenzhen is a city with less than 40 years history. Once you are in the city and if you knew 40 years ago it was only a small village with maybe 10 thousand population, that will amaze you.
20 000 people over 3 square km of Shenzhen urban centre. 300 000 people over the 2000 square km of the county.
All these people must have lived and worked in some sort of houses back in 1977. Where are these houses now?
