Have to cavil here and mention that, besides its SEZ history - which ostensibly leads us to reading threads specifically about Shenzhen - there's also a bit of older history. For instance, check out Nantou, or Dapeng. Other sites exist, but these are just a couple of examples.

In other news, the food is awesome.
