It's right across the street as well, essentially next door to the Marriott.
The facade of the building is historically significant, and was taken down and re-assembled while the new hotel was built.

I know this sounds crazy, but the Le Meridien in Chicago isn't the nicest Le Meridien there is--the Minneapolis one is actually much nicer. So if you're assuming because it's a Le Meridien it will be fantastic, it may disappoint you. (It's not terrible, just not as good as some of their other properties, IMHO.)
