I booked actually two trips on Air Chinas US website. I then cancelled one of them within 24 hours and in less than 10 days had the full fare refunded to my Credit card. It was a little more uncertain from my end, I was afraid I might end up with two reservations to the same place, but it was fine in the end. Credit card company didnt even balk at the transactions.

I check my reservation every couple of weeks or so online, once again using their US website. Works fine. I was able to choose seats on the website.

I dont know what else you could want. Got tickets, got seats, get on the plane.
