This summer we flew on China Airlines from Bangkok to Vancouver via Taipei where we had a 1 hour and 20 minutes connection in Taipei. Our flight from Bangkok was delayed by 20 minutes and we made it to the connecting gate with about 10 minutes to spare before boarding started.

I am now looking into flying from Vancouver via Taipei to Delhi, on the return connecting time is only 50 minutes. When I called China Airlines I was advised that it was a legal connecting time but I am still hesitating to book this flight.
Having had a quick look at the flight history of China Airlines' flight from Delhi to Taipei, it arrived delayed on all flights I checked by at least 30 minutes.

Has anyone had an experience in Tapei with such a short connecting time? I know that they would put us on the next plane to Vancouver if we missed the flight but since the flights aren't daily, I would not want to be stuck in Taipei for 2 days.

If anyone has any advise, I appreciate any feedback.
