I have been going to RB for the better part of 20 years, although I somehow missed going the past 2 summers.

As has been mentioned above, RB is a decidedly 'mixed' beach resort -- gay/lesbian and upper middle class families. The 'gay presence' is pretty open, esp in the evening. Walking hand in hand is no big deal. There are a lot of nice shops, very few chains (although there are a gazillion outlet shops -- and no sales tax -- on Route 1 about 5 miles inland).

Any decent restaurant or bar (straight or gay) will be on the main drag, Rehoboth Ave, or the streets on each side.

For up to date info, I would check the newsletter Camp Rehoboth. Another paper is the DC gay paper, Washington Blade, which covers Rehoboth as summer approaches.
