I stayed at The Majestic and really enjoyed it for the character and charm. While it feels a bit more commerical than some of the other colonial hotels in South East Asia (Raffles SIN, The MO BKK) there were still some historical areas that have been restored perfectly. Some of the rooms are rather large and renovated well. I think it represents very good value. It attracts a very sophisticated local crowd and I always feel that is quite telling...
