Just when I thought I would use up all my AA miles and shift everything over to UA this happens. At least with AA you can feed the routing you want to the agent on the phone and it will be booked at thee one way rate not segments added together. Now I have to rethink whether or not to keep doing business with AA.
You can also make date changes and routing changes to an award without a penalty as long as the denture and arrival cities stay the same.
