I tried twice - once with SQ via SIN, and once without. In both cases the agent was only able to pull 125k requirement. The routing from MEL-ICN do go via HKG though (TG462, TG606 & OZ746), however UA online seems to be okay with 80k and that seems only to be the agents' problem.

The multi-city weirdness you describe predates the latest change. If anything, in my experience, availability when searching multi-city is
better than it was, but it still doesn't match one-way searches.
Previously, the advice was to call in and they'd be able to fix it for you; judging by your experience, that's no longer the case.
