The plane may be coming off lease rather than time for a heavy maintenance visit. So in the end, 68 A320s will receive mods at a maximum.

Delta's fleet page shows 11 of the 69 A320s as leased. Of those 69, 41 saw in-service dates between October '90 and May '93.
Per the same poster on a.net, 7 A320s are scheduled for retirement in 2017.
